What is Professional Search Services?

Professional Search Services is a program within the Michigan Health & Hospital Association Service Corporation which has been providing executive search and management recruiting services since 1980. We conduct regional and national searches for middle management and upper-level executive positions in hospitals and entities that they own.

What is the cost of having Professional Search Services find and refer applicants to me for a position?

Our services are provided on a contingency basis, billed to the client on the starting date of the employee. Our fee is 25 percent of the annual starting salary.

Where do we find our candidates?

The Professional Search Services is a very mature program that has established a strong reputation nationally, and in this part of the country. We maintain a large candidate pool comprised of highly seasoned health care executives, and managers, from around the country, representing 23 healthcare management disciplines.

How do I know the candidates referred by Professional Search Services are qualified?

Our candidates are all pre-screened to confirm the validity of their resume, and MHA staff can do reference checking, if so desired. We also provide criminal and other background checking.

What if I hire a candidate recommended by Professional Search Services, and for some reason, it doesn't work out?

The MHASC Professional Search Services guarantees the candidate for twelve months commencing with the hire date of the initial placement (twice the normal probationary period). If the position becomes vacant (except for lay-off) within a twelve month period subsequent to the initial hire date, we will fill the position at no additional charge. If we are unable to find a suitable replacement in a mutually agreed upon period of time, we will refund a portion of the placement fee prorated for the length of time employed by the candidate during the twelve month guarantee period.

What if I need to fill a position a temporary basis, while I continue my search?

Professional Search Services provides an Interim Administrator service on a temporary basis. Should the client choose to permanently hire the candidate that the MHASC places, there is a placement fee of 10 percent of the starting salary if the interim candidate is hired after the fourth month of the interim assignment. The fee is 20 percent of the starting salary if the candidate is hired before the end of the fourth month.
